JAMMU, Nov 5: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Minister, Bali Bhagat, has warned Valley-based politicians to desist from supporting terrorists and their associates to reactivate pro-Pak & separatist agenda in the Valley.
The BJP leader lamented saying that it is an irony of this nation especially the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir that the Valley based politicians and leaders leave no stone unturned in encouraging supporters of terrorism by issuing irresponsible statements. He strongly criticized National Conference chief, Dr Farooq Abdullah for extending support to Hurriyat chief, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, whom he labeled as a mere “religious leader.” He stated, “By backing Mirwaiz, Farooq manifests his desire for the reactivation of Hurriyat to disrupt the hard-earned peace in the Valley.”
Bhagat further claimed that there are some Kashmiri leaders who, in the past, profited from the turbulence, and now they wish to revive such times. “Their true intentions are clear: to incite the youth, jeopardize peace, and snatch the livelihoods of innocent vendors, hoteliers, and drivers in the Valley,” said Bhagat.
Asserting that BJP Government at the Centre is toeing a pragmatic line to ensure restoration of peace in the Valley besides providing all the basic amenities to the people at their doorsteps but the bottlenecks are being created by the coterie of Kashmiri leaders who are supporting the anti-nationals.
“Farooq’s desperate calls for the return of bandhs, hartals, and stone-pelting episodes reflect a deeply entrenched separatist agenda. It appears he is suffocated by the peace and progress in Jammu & Kashmir,” he added.
Bali Bhagat said that the Government won’t allow anyone to instigate the masses against the country or to carry out the anti-national agenda in Kashmir Valley and whosoever not desisting from making obnoxious remarks having potential of instigating masses will also be made to face the tune of law.
Asserting that it is better late than never, Bali Bhagat suggested to Farooq Abdullah to become a responsible citizen now and be part of Kashmiris’ happiness instead of advocating talks for the rough nation.
