Political opportunism

Sir,
My concern is regarding the growing trend of political alliances driven solely by the motive to unseat the incumbent Government. In recent times, political discourse in India has witnessed a disturbing level of opposition criticism, often devoid of constructive reasoning.
The opposition’s relentless efforts to undermine the Government, even when it introduces positive policies or economic growth, are causing significant harm to our democratic principles. From questioning official data to supporting agitations, their actions are seemingly driven by the sole objective of weakening the Government’s position.
The formation of the “INDI alliance” to defeat Prime Minister Modi is another example of this approach. While democracy thrives on healthy competition, it should not be reduced to mere opportunism. Instead of offering a credible alternative, the alliance appears to rely on divisive rhetoric, religious polarization, and identity politics.
As responsible citizens, we should demand a more substantive political discourse that focuses on genuine issues rather than divisive tactics. It’s essential for our democracy’s health and progress.
