According to officials, the fire broke out around midnight in one of the houses, apparently due to a short circuit, quickly spreading to other structures.
Eyewitnesses reported that by the time personnel from the Fire and Emergency Services arrived, all three structures were damaged, and the personal belongings of the occupants were also affected.
The officials stated that three double-story concrete houses with GCI sheet roofs were damaged in the fire due to an electrical short circuit.
“The roofing and first floors of all the structures, as well as the ground floor of two residential houses, along with household goods, were severely damaged, while the ground floor of one house was partially damaged in the fire,” officials said.
As per the details, the houses belong to Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh, whose house suffered a loss of Rs 6.5 lakh, Showkat Ahmad Sheikh, with a loss of Rs 6 lakh, and Abdul Qayoom Sheikh, whose house suffered a loss of Rs 3.5 lakh.
Furthermore, the officials mentioned that two residential houses also suffered indirect damage due to heat and water.
In one of the residential houses, the family lost gold and cash that were intended for their daughter’s marriage.
“We have been left with nothing; we had made all the preparations for her wedding, and now there is nothing,” said the owner of one of the residential houses.
