KISHTWAR, Nov 7: Three more snow leopards have been captured in cameras from the forests of district Kishtwar.
Wild Life Protection Department has installed cameras in and around Kishtwar High Altitude National Park. Earlier some snow leopards were captured in cameras installed at the National Park but now the beast has been captured in cameras installed in forests of Padder area which is not a part of the National Park.
Wildlife Warden, Majid Bashir Mintoo informed that apart from National Park in Padder area of Kishtwar total of 40 tracking cameras have been installed and recently eight of these cams were retrieved from areas between Palali and Kundhail and surprisingly three out of eight cameras have captured photos of snow leopards.
He said that rest of the cameras are being retrieved and hoped some more positive results in coming days.
Mintoo said that it is also being verified whether these are the same animals which were captured in cameras installed at National Park or a different group roaming in the area.
