JAMMU, Nov 7: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) co incharge J&K, Ashish Sood today lambasted the dynastic parties for creating a false and baseless narrative about the Narendra Modi Government and LG administration in J&K and misleading people that no development has taken place in the UT.
The BJP leader, who was on a two days hectic tour of Jammu region while addressing the meetings strongly countered what he termed the false and negative narrative created by the dynastic parties including National Conference (NC), Congress and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) about the Modi Government and LG administration.
Challenging these parties, he said their leaders are in total desperation after losing the power and hence they are spreading canards to mislead the people of J&K whom they kept in dark for the 70 long years and deprived them of the real fruits and benefits of democracy after looting the resources of the erstwhile State.
Sood said after the power has been snatched from these parties and given to common people of the J&K, since then leaders are leading sleepless nights and trying to create a false narrative about the BJP knowing fully that there are no takers for this false and baseless propaganda. “The public of J&K hardly believe these parties as they (people) have been betrayed by them during last seven decades of the misrule by dynastic parties,. They failed to take the democracy to grassroots level by holding the elections to three tier basic institutions of democracy in the erstwhile State and hence they have no right to raise fingers on BJP and Modi’’, Sood added.
The BJP leader, while holding them responsible for backwardness of the erstwhile State, said that taking disadvantage of so-called special status they had perpetrated loot during their rule making a total monopoly of the system. It was the BJP which gave special powers to J&K by giving the common masses benefit of various welfare schemes like insurance, Ayushman Bharat, Tejaswi etc, he added and warned these parties to refrain from misleading the people.
He said it is a pity that despite having huge potential of generating hydro electricity, the previous State Governments failed to tap the water resources for power generation to overcome the power crisis. They always had a vested interest and the companies who were getting the contracts of projects were being harassed with the result they were abandoning the work. These parties had a vested interest in that because they wanted that the people of J&K should continue to remain deprived of development and facilities so that the leaders of these parties can continuously exploit them for their vested interests, he added.
Sood said this can be gauged from the fact that the hindrances and hurdles were created in construction of Shahpur Kandi Project for 40 long years because the dynastic parties were not interested in the development of this region. Likewise, the Rattle project was also sabotaged by these parties during their rule forcing the company to abandon the work, Sood added.
But the Modi Government after coming to power foiled their all plans and their hopes were dashed to ground as BJP Government not only took democracy in the UT to grassroot level after abrogating the Article 30 and 35 A but also cleared the abandoned power projects, established AIIMs, IIT, Medical Colleges, Engineering Colleges, IIM, Institute of Mass Communication, constructed roads, bridges, Highways, Flyovers, tunnels, expanded and modernized airports and railway stations, established seed processing plant , Biotech Park, sanctioned high altitude medicinal research institute, degree colleges etc.
The development made during the last nine years in J&K is even double than the 70 years of opposition rule, he said, adding how long these dynastic parties will mislead people.
Sood who during his two days tour visited Samba, Jammu and Jammu South, Reasi, Udhampur, Ramban districts held interactive sessions with Booth Committee and senior party leaders and stressed on intensifying party activites in view of the next year Lok Sabha elections to apprise the people the development and welfare schemes launched by Modi Government in last nine years.
He said after the Diwali festival is over, 3000 programmes will be held across Jammu province by the party in which the developmental schemes and over nine years performance of Modi Government will taken to common masses.
He said the party will also publish pamphlets highlighting the performance of Modi Government and they will be distributed among the people.
