RAJOURI, Nov 8: Inspector General of Police (IGP), Jammu Zone, Anand Jain, conducted a comprehensive review of the crime and the law & order situation in the Rajouri District during a meeting held here at the District Police Line (DPL) Rajouri.
During the review meeting attended by DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range, Dr Haseeb Mughal; SSP Rajouri, Amritpal Singh, and several other officers, discussions revolved around the disposal of cases registered in the current year and the handling of pending cases from previous years.
Detailed instructions were issued to both Investigating Officers and Supervisory officers to enhance the quality of investigations, with an emphasis on achieving effective prosecution.
IGP Jammu specifically directed officers to take measures to improve the capability of personnel in dealing with Narco and UAPA cases, stressing the need for closer supervision and more effective handling of important cases, especially NDPS/UAPA cases, to secure higher conviction rates.
Additionally, he emphasized the importance of synergy and coordinated efforts among officers to combat narco-terrorism in the Range. He highlighted the significance of regular interactions and briefings at different levels and called for the active cooperation of the people in the fight against drug abuse and other social crimes.
Dr Haseeb Mughal, DIG RP Range, provided an overview of the law & order, crime, and security situation in the region, along with the initiatives undertaken by the Police in the twin districts of Pir Panjal, Rajouri, and Poonch. He also shared measures taken to strengthen the security grid and improve policing.
SSP Rajouri, Amritpal Singh presented an elaborate Power Point Presentation on the prevailing security scenario in the district, offering insights into the overall crime situation and its management.
Meanwhile, IGP Jammu, Anand Jain, engaged with civil society members during the meeting, appealing for their support in maintaining law and order in their respective areas. The public had an opportunity to discuss various police-related concerns.
Anand Jain also stressed the importance of encouraging youth participation in sports and constructive activities.
