Foundation Day of IETE celebrated

JAMMU, Nov 8: Jammu Sub-Centre of Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE JSC) celebrated 70th Foundation Day with theme ‘Vision of a Developed India: Role of Futuristic Technologies’.
Founded on November 2, 1953, IETE is the national apex professional body of Electronics and Telecommunications, Computer Science and IT. It has over one lakh corporate, professional and student members and 63 centres/sub centres in India and abroad.
Joy Ganjoo, Chairman IETE, Jammu Sub Centre welcomed all the participants on foundation day and highlighted IETE’s bright points on planned activities to promote awareness of Electronics and Computer Technology among college and university students.
Dr. Vijay Sharma, Hony Secretary, conveyed president’s message on Foundation Day.
IETE Jammu Sub Centre facilitated two senior most members of IETE in J&K. They are Group Captain S.P Sharma and Col. C.D Manotra.
Dr. Vishal Sharma, HoD at Department of Electronics in MAM College Jammu delivered his lecture on ‘Vision of a developed India: Role of futuristic Technologies’ and also on digital/Nano technology.
Prof. Neeraj Sharma, IQAC Coordinator MAM College was the chief guest and while speaking on the occasion he thanked organisers for conducting such beneficial programme.
Sameer Sharma, Vice chairman IETE Jammu Sub Centre also spoke on the occasion.
In concluding remarks, Maj. Gen. S.K Sharma (Fellow IETE) (retd.) and president, Forum for Awareness of National Security, J&K stressed on the need to develop solutions to the societal problems using Arduino, Raspberry or jetson Nano like single-board computers etc.
