JKTA delegation calls on Alok Kumar, raises issues of teachers

JAMMU, Nov 8: The delegation of JK Teachers Association (JKTA), led by its UT President Bhupinder Singh, called on Principal Secretary School Education Jammu Kashmir, Alok Kumar at Civil Secretariat Jammu and raised the burning issues of the teaching fraternity.
JKTA demanded implementation of Transfer Policy for those appointed under ReT Scheme, inclusion of Five Years Service of ReTs for the seniority benefits, DPC for teachers to Masters, regularization of Educational Volunteers (EVs), provision of Ministerial Staff to HS and HSS, release of salary on the first of every month , change in Zonation system in ATD on the basis of proximity to Educational Zones rather than their distance from the district headquarters, prompt addressing of pendency of various issues faced by teachers in Zonal Education offices, Chief Education offices and the Directorate of School Education, promoting the use of the mother tongue in educational Institutions, implementation of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 at the primary level and issuance of Post Facto exam permission.
After giving a patient hearing to the delegation, Principal Secretary School Education assured to resolve the issues raised by the delegation of JKTA.
Alok Kumar also applauded the work of teacher community in general and particularly teachers appointed under ReT Scheme.
The delegation also called on Director Samagra, Er Deep Raj at his office and raised the issue of pending liability of MDM.
The members who comprised the delegation, included Akhtar Abbas Naik, Kuldeep Singh, Sunil Salaria, Poonam Thakur, Dhruv Singh and Surjeet Singh.
