SAMBA, Nov 9: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Samba, Benam Tosh today presided over impressive ‘Thana Diwas’ at Police Station (PS) Vijaypur where large number of prominent citizens including PRIs were present.
SSP Samba was accompanied by Additional SP Samba, Surinder Choudhary, SDPO Vijaypur Rohit Kumar, SHO Police Station, Vijaypur, Sandeep Charak and other police officers.
Those who spoke on the occasion on behalf of the public included DDC Member, Sudarshan Singh, Chairman Municipal Committee, Ganesh Sharma, vice president, Beopar Mandal Vijaypur, Jugal Mahajan, Ex-Chairman, Municipal Committee, Vijaypur, Deepak Kumar, Sarpanch Gurha Slathia, Jatinder Singh, Sarpanch Sangwal, Tajinder Kour, Sarpanch, Jakh Romesh Kumar, Sarpanch Gudwal Mohan Lal Sharma, Sarpanch Damore-Thandi Khui Pola, social activists, Ajay Sharma, Udham Singh and Dheeraj Sharma aired their reports and general grievances of the people at the properly organised Thana Diwas which were directed to be redressed immediately.
Speaking on the occasion of Thana Diwas, SSP Samba, Benam Tosh thanked the public of Vijaypur for appreciating the functioning of Police in Samba district and also thanked the prominent citizens for sparing their valuable time and putting forward valuable suggestions for further improvement in the working of the police vis-à-vis public service.
Benam Tosh said that crime has been controlled in Samba district and hotspots of heroin have been vanished across the district and big heroin suppliers are either in jails or have been booked to be arrested under law. He further said that police is taking strong action against perpetrators of crime against women in Samba district & those who commit crime against women of cognizable nature are being immediately arrested after collection of evidence without giving them time to escape.
SSP directed the police officers present at the Thana Diwas to listen to the complainants at the Police Stations and Police Posts empathetically and respectfully ensuring dignity of everyone and dispose of their matters appropriately and expeditiously.
