JAMMU, Jan 17: Minister for Labour, Planning and Development Ajay Kumar Sadhotra today said that Government has been paying focused attention to upgrade the existing infrastructure of vital sectors to ensure better facilities to the people across the State.
The Minister was addressing a large public meeting after laying foundation stone of development works worth Rs. 10 lakh at Guru Gyagi ji Maharaj Asthan at village Dhatreyal in Marh block near here.
Urging people to remain vigilant against the disruptive forces, Mr Sadhotra said these forces were employing all deceptive tactics to create wedge between various segments of the society. He asked the people to maintain unity and alienate these elements in the larger interest of peace and harmony.  He said peace is imperative for implementing various welfare and centrally sponsored schemes. He solicited support of the society for sustaining peace by promoting amity between various communities.
Describing development of rural and far-flung areas as main plank of the Omar led Government, the Minister referred to the historic Panchayat elections and empowering Panchayats to take independent decisions at their level to ensure development of rural areas.
This has ensured active involvement of the people at grass-root level in the decision making after fixing the local priorities. He said empowering people has been a cherished agenda of the Coalition Government and it has succeeded in its mission during the past half-decade. He asked the people to strengthen the hands of Omar Abdullah to realize the goal of all round development of the State.
