27 J&K hospitals bag Rs 1 cr incentive under NHA’s DHI Scheme

Srinagar, Nov 15: In a move aimed at strengthening digital health initiatives, the National Health Authority (NHA) has announced incentives exceeding Rs 1 crore and 15 lakh for 27 healthcare facilities in J&K as part of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission’s (ABDM) Digital Health Incentives Scheme (DHIS).
According to details available with Excelsior, the Government Medical College (GMC), Baramulla, leads the pack, securing over Rs 18 lakh for September-October as incentives. Following closely is Shri Maharaja Gulab Singh Hospital, Jammu, with incentives exceeding Rs 14 lakh during the same period.
Also, in June of this year, 27 hospitals from J&K secured incentives totalling Rs 10.79 lakh, Rs 14.53 lakh in July, and Rs 19.74 lakh in August, with the incentives for September-October being the highest so far.
Further details state that GMC, Rajouri, has secured incentives amounting to Rs 1.37 lakh, Rs 5.31 lakh for Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, Rs 4.82 lakh for GMC Kathua, 5.59 lakh for GMCH, Rs 4.90 lakh for DH Pulwama, Rs 4.67 lakh for SMHS Hospital, Rs 5.50 lakh for CHC Akhnoor, Rs 3.52 lakh for Associated Hospital, GMC Anantnag, Rs over 10 lakh for District Hospital, Shopian, Rs 6.73 lakh for Super Speciality Hospital, Srinagar, and Rs 2.59 lakh for Government Hospital Sarwal, Jammu.
Moreover, in Srinagar, Govt L.D. Hospital has secured Rs 2.54 lakh as incentives, Rs 5.89 lakh by District Hospital, Udhampur, Rs 3.40 lakh by District Hospital, Poonch, Rs 1.71 lakh for District Hospital, Budgam, Rs 1.50 lakh by Sub-District Hospital, R.S. Pura, Rs 2 lakh by the CHC, Pattan, Rs 1 lakh by CHC, Uri, Rs 1.89 lakh by Chest Diseases Hospital, Srinagar, Rs 1.66 lakh by Govt Dental Hospital, Jammu, Rs 1.72 lakh by CHC, Tangmarg, Rs 1 lakh by District Hospital, Samba, Rs 2 lakh by CHC, Kupwara, Rs 42 thousand by AHGMC DODA, and 68 thousand by CHC, Kreeri.
Interestingly, J&K has also surpassed the 1 crore mark in generating Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) IDs, while 100 more healthcare facilities have now been added to the overall hospitals in J&K equipped with the Scan & Share Queue Management System.
Officials informed that the DHIS, extended until December 31, 2023, offers financial incentives to hospitals and other stakeholders. The eligible health facilities, under the scheme, they noted, can earn up to Rs. 4 crores based on the creation and linking of digital health records to ABHA numbers and other transactions.
Expressing delight, Bhupinder Kumar, Secretary, Health & Medical Education (H&ME) Department, commended the efforts of ABDM J&K while hoping for sustained momentum.
