JAMMU, Nov 15: District Development Commissioner, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, today held Block Diwas at Pargwal and interacted with the locals to address their issues and demands.
DDC Vice Chairman, Suraj Singh; BDC Chairperson, Nisha Devi; DDC Member, Bhushan Bral besides Sarpanchs and PRI representatives also participated in the event.
The issue of the project of Sajwal-Indri Bridge, which is vital for the connectivity of the area, was prominently raised and acknowledged by the DDC.
Locals also demanded strengthening of patient care services at Primary Health Centre Pargwal, requirement for veterinary facility, other medical requirements, quality drinking water supply, ration card bifurcation, demand for improved irrigation facilities and other developmental needs of the area.
The Sarpanchs also highlighted the success stories of different Government schemes benefiting the locals, like delivery of Kisan Credit Cards, PMEGP initiatives and employment opportunities under UMEED.
The DDC asked for redressal of several demands on the spot, such as the provision of boats for emergency situations, Molu via Rangpur Pindi Road, power requirement of local health centre, and arrangement of Ration Card services through special camps. He also assured taking action on other requests and assured looking into compensation issues.
He said that the Block Diwas is an important initiative to reach out to the people at the grassroots level and to ensure speedy and transparent delivery of public services. He urged the people to avail the benefits of different welfare schemes and programmes launched by the Government.
SDM Khour, Anil Kumar Thakur; Assistant Commissioner Development, Preeti Sharma; Tehsildar Pargwal, Manjeet Singh; BDO Pargwal, Virender Kumar besides other district officers were also present at the occasion.
During his visit, the DDC also inspected Health & Wellness Centre Pargwal and reviewed it’s functioning.
