Sanjeev Verma reviews development scenario in Maitra panchayat-A, interacts with PRIs

RAMBAN, Nov 15: Commissioner Secretary, General Administrative Department, Sanjeev Verma, Prabhari Officer for Panchayat Maitra-A, Ramban block under “Back to Village” phase V, today reviewed implementation of various development and individual-oriented schemes during his visit to the allotted Panchayat.
Deputy Commissioner, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, Senior Superintendent of Police, ADDC, ADC, ACR, ACD and other senior officers besides PRIs and people in large number participated in the programme.
Commissioner Secretary interacted with PRIs, locals and officers from different departments and addressed the concerns raised by the PRIs and other people.
Responding to the issues, Commissioner Secretary directed the Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti Department to conduct an audit of all existing and new ongoing water supply schemes to ensure proper water supply in the panchayat and surrounding areas.
Commissioner Secretary asked the officers of all departments to share details of bottlenecks hindering progress on developmental works of public interest. He exhorted upon the officers to conduct joint visits of all road projects sanctioned under different schemes to upload reports on Parivesh Portal for Forest Clearance.
Commissioner Secretary directed the AD Food to ensure proper ration distribution at Maitra Depot. He asked the officers of Jal Shakti to identify new sources for water supply like dug well near river Chenab, besides ensuring plantation in coordination with concerned departments in surrounding of the conventional sources.
Commissioner Secretary directed the concerned officers to resolve all the genuine issues of the public at the earliest. He also assured the people that their demands and grievances will be taken up with concerned authorities for redressal.
The Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti was asked to immediately start renovation work on filtration plant Maitra to ensure quality and uninterrupted supply of water. Besides, the PRIs and other participants were asked to sensitize the people to install electric meters in their homes to pay bills as per consumption of electricity.
Earlier, PRIs highlighted their issues including, sanction of new Higher Secondary School for Maitra, Ramban, allotment of land to landless eligible people under Forest Right Act, start of classes of Kendriya Vidyalaya Ramban, sanction of new ration depot to minimize rush at ration depot Maitra, start of work on Kanga- Koti Jagir and Gali to Pachal via Duri roads, completion of construction work of Gujjar Hostel, Maitra, bridge, opening of Awass Plus portal to include new beneficiaries, sanction of irrigation kul and completion of JJM schemes.
