J&K under tyrannical rule of BJP: GA Mir

Excelsior Correspondent

ANANTNAG, Nov 16: Expressing serious concern over the multiple issues concerning public at local level particularly shortage of ration, frequent and unscheduled power cuts, besides extreme joblessness in J&K, CWC Member and former J&K Congress president Ghulam Ahmad Mir today asked the present dispensation to shun the negligent attitude towards the genuine needs of public.
Mir was addressing a largely attended Congress workers meeting at Verinag in district Anantnag in which Congress leaders and workers briefed him (Mir) about the Party activities and the issues concerning public in their respective areas.
Mir told the workers that BJP Govt has set a trend to divert attention of the people from real issues by adopting diversionary tactics, besides suppressing the voices being raised against the misrule and mismanagement.
“BJP Govt is exhibiting its animosity with the people in J&K by sidelining their genuine needs despite knowing that they are feeling isolated and depressed in the absence of the popular Government. Elected Govts are mandated to address public issues and take effective measures to address joblessness, developmental needs and various other issues concerning them on ground,” Mir told the Centre Govt and demanded restoration of democratic process in J&K, without any further loss of time.
“J&K is apparently  under tyrannical rule of BJP, people are not allowed to raise their voice against the discrimination and failures to mitigate their sufferings,” Mir added and told the workers that  it is now their responsibility to reach out to public and highlight their issues be it the shortage of ration, unscheduled power cuts, rising unemployment or be it the lack of development at grassroots in order to  force the JK Govt to address these issues.
He said people deserve to be provided ration as per their requirement, electricity, water, good  and trafficable roads and road connective in far flung area, besides various other facilities particularly job opportunities, but unfortunately nothing was done after the undemocratic dissolution of State Legislature and downgrading of full-fledged state  by the BJP Govt at Centre.
CWC Member declared that Congress Party shall continue its uncompromising fight against the wrong policies of BJP Govt and would do its utmost to ensure justice and a dignified life to people.
Senior leaders Ali Mohd Manoo, Mohd Iqbal Mir, Prince Sheikh, Shabir Ahmad Dar and Mohd Saleem Ganie also spoke on the occasion.
