Ambulance driver, securityman beaten up by CRPF officer

MENDHAR, Nov 16: The case of beating of an ambulance driver and a hospital security guard has come to light in Mendhar Sub Division of Poonch district today morning.
Reports said that Ambulance driver Imtiaz Ahmed and security guard Vivek Sharma were going to take the patient on emergency call, where an officer and jawans in a CRPF vehicle stopped them near Ari Bridge and asked why they were using the siren.
The driver replied the siren was sounded after CRPF vehicle was not giving passage to Ambulance. The ambulance was going to pick up a serious patient. Upon this, the CRPF officer and his associates started abusing and beating  the driver and security guard accompanying Ambulance. After reaching Mendhar hospital with patient, they informed BMO and other medical staff at SDH Mendhar.
Block Medical Officer, Mendhar, Dr Ashfaq Ahmed said that our driver and guard were beaten up by the CRPF men at night, after which they were admitted to the hospital. He said we have given a written complaint to the Mendhar police station and we demand action against the accused persons.
After this ambulance drivers in SDH started protesting and claimed that they will not ply their ambulances as mark of protest. After receiving information SDPO Mendhar Sheezan Bhatt along with SHO Sajad Biniya reached the hospital where they met the victims and assured the hospital administration that they will investigate the matter and take action against as per law against the guilty.
