DODA, Nov 16: As a part of ongoing Back to Village-5 Programme aimed at good governance and reiterating Govt’s. commitment to reach out to the masses, the Chief Executive Officer, of the Integrated Watershed Management Programme, Dr. Bharat Bhushan visited Nalthi Panchayat of Bhaderwah for two days and listened to public grievances.
Accompanied by BDO Bhaderwah, Anoop Kumar, the CEO conducted a review of the Govt scheme’s deliverables with the officials of the line Departments.
Mohd Yasir Wani, Sarpanch Panchayat Nalthi apprised the visiting Prabhari officer that the Social Welfare Department’s Schemes pertaining to pensions for the old, widows & differently-abled persons of the Panchayat has reached the saturation level as all the eligible persons are getting social assistance.
Similarly, the works under MGNREGS and SBM (Grameen) are being executed as per the approved action plan. He demanded that land compensation of houses of Basti Mahra of Panchayat be given so that a 250-meter stretch of PWD road linking Nalthi to Bani-Basholi Road can be got constructed at an earliest. He lamented that the issue has not been addressed till date despite languishing since 2013.
The other demands projected by Sarpanch included the construction of a playground in the Panchayat, opening of an Animal Husbandry sub-centre, accelerating the pace of works of the Institute of Mountaineering and High Altitude, Bhaderwah, filling up of the vacant post of Headmaster in the local school.
Later, a cultural extravaganza was presented by noted Bhaderwahi singers namely Manzoor Ahmad Wani and Majid Bashir. The locals and PRIs enjoyed the local folk songs and ghazals presented by the duo.
On day second, CEO IWMP administered Nasha Mukt pledge to the PRIs and youth of Panchayat under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. With the assistance of the Forest Department, deodar saplings were also planted by the visiting officer, BDO & PRIs
The visiting Parbhari Officer, Dr. Bharat Bhushan appraised about the initiatives of the Govt. to address the genuine concerns of the citizens. He said Back to Village is the innovative programme of the Government which reiterates the commitment of the administration for bridging the gap between Govt and its citizens and bring governance at the doorstep of the people.
