JAMMU, Jan 19: Evacuees Property Tenants Welfare Society (EPTWS) deputation led by its president Jyoti Vaid met Abdul Majid Mir, Custodian General and apprised him about the problems being faced by the tenants of the Evacuees Property.
The deputation said that most of the tenants are aggrieved over settlement of their long pending cases. They said that the department is charging big amount of premium by force from those occupants, who are living in Custodian houses, under the policy framed by the then Revenue Minister, which is not acceptable to the tenants.
They further stated that 8 per cent premium on the estimated cost of construction payable by the tenants is unjustifiably imposed on tenants while they raise any additional accommodation on their expenses.
They urged the Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation through Custodian General to look into the issues for redressal.
Custodian General gave patient hearing to the demands and assured speedy disposal of all the demands.
Among others present were Suraj Sharma, Nazeer Ahmed, Mohammad Sharief, Tej Ram, Romesh, Gopal Sharma, Jamshed Akhtar, Rattan Sawhney, Gurcharan Singh and Sunny Chibber.
