Chana futures slide 0.20 per cent on increased supply

NEW DELHI, Jan 20: Chana prices declined 0.20 per cent to Rs 3,032 per quintal in futures trade today as participants trimmed positions, triggered by increased supplies from producing regions against subdued demand in spot markets.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chana for delivery in January declined by Rs 6, or 0.20 per cent, to Rs 3,032 per quintal with an open interest of 4,680 lots.
Similarly, the commodity for delivery in February traded lower by Rs 5, or 0.16 per cent, to Rs 3,070 per quintal in 87,090 lots.
Analysts said trimming of positions by participants, triggered by increased supplies from producing regions against subdued demand in the spot market, mainly kept pressure on chana prices at futures trade. (AGENCIES)
