Leopard kills 11 sheep, goats

UDHAMPUR, Nov 22: Panic gripped village Upper-Meer, Block Panchari near Sankari Temple where a wild animal sneaked into from a nearby forest area and killed around 11 sheep and goats late last night.
Reports said that the wild animal, probably leopard, killed 11 sheep and goats besides leaving some other domestic animals injured. Three sheep have been found missing.
These sheep and goats belonged to Bhopinder Singh and Surjeet Singh, residents of Upper Meer Kote.
The incident has triggered panic in the village and people have appealed to the Wildlife Department to take immediate action in this regard. The villagers have also demanded compensation.
