‘Empowering young girls’

SAMBA, Nov 22: Empowering Girls- a self-defense workshop-cum-training program was organized by a retired Indian Air Force officer, Dr Pradeep Sharma at Kristu Jyoti Convent School, Samba here today.
In a proactive initiative, Dr Pradeep conducted an impactful self-defense training session for the girl students and female teachers of this School in Samba City today. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation of 180 senior girls and all the dedicated female teachers.
Dr Sharma, an expert in self-defense techniques, aimed to empower the participants with practical skills and knowledge essential for personal safety of the fair sex in any situation, thus creating self confidence among them while moving alone on the road, lane, any market place or other public places.
The workshop comprised informative sessions and hands-on demonstrations, fostering a comprehensive understanding of self-defense. Dr Sharma distributed informative leaflets, ensuring that the participants had valuable takeaways for future reference. The practical sessions allowed the girls to practice essential maneuvers and techniques, equipping them with the confidence and skills necessary to protect themselves in various situations.
The workshop not only focused on physical techniques but also emphasized the importance of mental preparedness and situational awareness. Dr Sharma’s engaging and informative approach created a conducive learning environment, leaving a lasting impact on all attendees.
By addressing the specific needs of senior girls and involving the entire cadre of lady teachers, Dr Sharma’s workshop at Kristu Jyoti Convent School contributed significantly to fostering a safer and more secure school environment. The event serves as a commendable step towards empowering individuals with the knowledge and skills needed for self-defense. Dr Sharma has been conducting such training sessions/ programs in various schools in J&K, Punjab and Himachal.
