JAMMU, Jan 20: A man allegedly committed suicide, while another tried to end his life by consuming some poisonous stuff.
As per reports, surinder, son of darshan lal of Jharkhand, presently residing in district samba allegedly consumed some posionus substance at his residence.
Finding him unconscious, family members shifted him to nearby hospital, from where he was later referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where he failed to respond to the treatment and breathed his last today.
The body has been handed over to family members for last rites after completing legal formalities.
A case has been registered and investigation started to ascertain the reason behind such extreme step.
Meanwhile, a man identified as Arjun Singh, son of Naseeb Singh of Bhagwati Nagar allegedly tried to attempt suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at Rani Park, falling under the jurisdiction of Pacca Danga police station.
On getting information, police rushed to the spot and shifted him to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where he was undergoing treatment, when last reports came in.
A case has been registered at Pacca Danga police station and investigation started to ascertain the reason behind such extreme step.
