One killed, four injured in road accidents

JAMMU, Nov 24: A 38-year-old woman died and four others, including two women, suffered injuries in separate road accidents in Jammu District today, police said.
They said one Vijay Kumari wife of Venkata Subbaih of Andhra Pradesh at present Ratnu Chak was injured after a motorcycle she was travelling on as pillion rider was hit by a tanker on the National Highway near Rangoora.
The woman was taken to ASCOMS Hospital for treatment from where she was referred to Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu, where she was declared as dead on arrival, police said.
The body of the woman has been shifted to the mortuary of the hospital for conducting the post-mortem examination while as a case under relevant sections of the law has been registered at Police Station Bagh-e-Bahu and further investigation taken up.
Meanwhile, four people, including two women, suffered injuries in separate road accidents in Jammu District today.
According to police, one Arti Sharma (38) wife of Sunil Dutt of Badyal Brahamana suffered injuries after an auto she was travelling in turned turtle near Badyal Brahamana.
Another woman, identified as Kulsoom (54) wife of Roshan Din of Rajouri at present Malik Market suffered injuries at Malik Market after she was hit by a car.
One Uttam Sharma (38) son of Kartar Chand of Mansar sustained injuries at Panjgrain, Nagrota, after the motorcycle he was riding on was hit by an unknown vehicle.
At Simbal Morh area, one Natha Ram (60) son of Isher Dass of Malikpur, Miran Sahib, suffered injuries after he was hit by a motorcycle.
All the injured have been rushed to Government Medical College Jammu for treatment while as cases under the relevant sections of the law have been registered at the concerned police stations and further investigations taken up.
