JAMMU, Nov 24 : BJP Health and Medical Cell convener Jammu & Kashmir, Puneet Mahajan met Chief Executive Officer –Ayushman Bharat- J&K Sanjiv M Gadkar here, today and raised some issues pertaining to issuance of Golden cards through CSCs for taking the benefit of Ayushman Bharat Scheme.
He appreciated the role of CSCs in implementing the scheme by processing and issuing Golden cards even in remote and far flung area of the UT and even during Covid-19 period who worked tirelessly day and night for the saturation of the scheme in this UT. Due to their nonstop efforts nearly 90% of the eligible population has already been covered and 10% remain to be covered, he added.
Mahajan said the role of CSCs in penetrating the scheme in every nook and corner of the UT was highlighted.
He explained that since long suddenly, the Ayushman Bharat Service of CSCs has been stopped due to one reason or the other which is causing problem to the people specially senior citizens who are still to be registered in this scheme. No doubt the facility of registration exists in the Government hospitals, but they are already overburdened and can hardly meet this job. He said it is very much in the interest of the scheme as well as the remaining uncovered people to make the Ayushman Bharat Service of CSCs functional again as early as possible.
