JAMMU, Nov 25: The PSC Assistant Engineer expressed serious concern over constant Diversion of Direct Recruitment quota at the level of Assistant Engineer and Junior Engineer Level in Power Development Department and unbundled corporations.
To discuss this issue a meeting of PSC assistant engineers was held here today, which was attended by PSC aspirants from Jammu as well as Srinagar.
Addressing during the meeting, the Aspirants lamented that Since 2018, there has been no recruitment of Junior Engineers and Assistant Engineers in the Power Development Department as well as in the unbundled corporations.
The Department has been constantly promoting in-service candidates since 2018 and has till date promoted 290 Junior Engineers since 2018 vide different Govt. orders on incharge basis that too without any regularization of the existing in- charge Assistant Engineers up to Chief Engineers.
The fact remains that all these Engineers are currently working substantively as Assistant Engineers or Junior Engineers. All the Chief Engineers are either Assistant Engineers or even Junior Engineers substantively.
The direct recruitment candidates have been kept outside since years totally against the principles of Govt. business.
The diversion of the direct recruitment quota at the level of Assistant Engineer has been constantly been eroded and today the in -place direct recruitees are bare minimum and there is a deliberate attempt to keep the direct recruits at Bay and cause undue benefits to the in service candidates.
They further appealed to LG and Principal Secretary PDD to complete recruitment of the Direct Recruitment Quota at level of Assistant Engineers and Junior Engineers should be filled and seniority position restored in line with the guiding principles of the Judgement of Suraj Prakash Gupta vs State of J&K and in case.
