Khatana urges Gujjars to unite, excel in respective fields

MEERUT (Uttar Pradesh), Nov 26: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, Gulam Ali Khatana, emphasized the rich tradition and history of the Gujjar community, urging its members to unite and excel in their respective fields.
Speaking at the inaugural day of two-day International Seminar in the memory of martyr of the 1857 revolt, Dhan Singh Kotwal, held at Charan Singh University, Meerut, MP Khatana shed light on the significant contributions of Gujjars, who constitute the largest Tribe in South Asia, with presence spanning India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and beyond, sharing a common lineage.
Khatana stressed the importance of unity among Gujjars, emphasizing that their strength lies in standing together and fostering excellence in various domains.
He highlighted the diverse achievements of Gujjars across sectors and called for collaborative efforts to uplift the community as a whole.
However, the MP also expressed concern over external forces attempting to sow seeds of division among the Gujjars.
He warned against falling prey to divisive tactics and encouraged the community to remain united in the face of such challenges.
The need to preserve the cultural and historical legacy of the Gujjars was underscored as a key element in promoting solidarity.
The International Seminar, focused on commemorating the Martyr of the 1857 revolt, Dhan Singh Kotwal, provided a platform for scholars, historians, and community leaders to discuss and reflect on the historical significance of the event. MP Khatana’s address contributed valuable insights into the role played by the Gujjars in the broader context of India’s history, shedding light on their resilience, achievements and the challenges they face.
