SVLARC launches 3rd phase of ‘Copy Project’

JAMMU, Nov 27: Shree Vishwakarma Library, New Plot Jammu (SVLARC) launched 3rd phase of its project, called “Copy Project”  which is aimed to provide free stationery to the BPL/poor students and preparation of database to identify the talent.
The inaugural lot was distributed by Bodh Raj Khokhar and Vijay Kumar Dhiman, in an awareness camp held at a remote village Rathian in district Udhampur.
Giving details, Balwant Kataria (vice chairman of Library) explained that SVLARC has started this project in 2021 with 1000 note books. In 2022, the note books were increased to 1700 and now it has further increased to 3450 in 2023, the third phase. “Till date, Library has registered 250 students for help and each student will be provided 8 copies,” Kataria added.
Explaining the objectives of the Project, Joginder Angotra, Incharge of the Library, said, “The Copy Project is aimed at helping the students who can’t afford stationary and also prepare a data base of students for further plans. This data base shall be used for identification of genius candidates who shall be guided and helped for Civil/Armed/Medical services.
Bodh Raj Khokhar said that Library is doing exactly what I desired many years ago while Vijay Dhiman said that specially prepared note books bearing a cartoon of Dr Ambedkar telling a labour child to stand and study and become a man of dignity shall motivate even the illiterate people.
On the occasion, free note books were distributed to the students and four meritorious girls students namely Kriti Devi (89% marks in 10th), Ahana Verma (96.2% marks in 12th), Shagun Salaria (91% in 12th), Ayushi Verma (77.9% in 12th) were honoured.
The Library comprised of four members including Ram Pal Chargotra, Mahesh Pangotra. Those who witnessed the event include Shoba Ram, Om Parkash Dhiman, Gurdyal Dhiman, Kisho Ram, a number ladies and students.
