JAMMU, Nov 29: In continuation of three-day event under KASHPEX-2023, a special cover on the Jia Pota Ghat, Akhnoor was released by Col Vinod Kumar, Chief Postmaster General, J&K Circle and Pankaj K Mishra, Director Postal Services.
Addressing the gathering, Col Vinod Kumar thanked the school authorities for their whole hearted contribution to the exhibition.
He threw light on “MY Stamp” and highlighted the various features and usage of My Stamp for knowledge of students. He also informed the audience that Department is willing to extend the support in creation of Philately Clubs in schools to promote the hobby of Philately among school children from a young age.
Col Vinod also intimated the students that scented stamps of India Post are on display at the exhibition and urged students to explore the same and urged the students to open Philatelic Deposit Accounts (PDA) in order to pursue the hobby of Philately in an easy and accessible way.
Pankaj K Mishra, Director Postal Services welcomed the audience while Javaid Ahmad Haji, SSPOs Srinagar Division presented the vote of thanks.
Ankush Bhagat, SSPOs Jammu Division and was also present during the event besides senior officers of the Department of Posts.
On the occasion a quiz competition was also organised in which students of Kashmir Harvard Educational Institute finished first while as St Paul’s International Academy and Caset Experimental School finished second and third.
300 students from GD Goenka Public School, DOK Public School, Al Asma Educational Instt, Burnhall School, Birla Minds International Open School (BOMIS), Syed Ali Memorial Institute of Education (SAMIE), CASET Experimental School, Saint Paul International School, Kashmir Harvard Educational Institute, Air Force school, Rainbow International School, Legends School of Education and The HKMC RA Educational Institute attended the exhibition.
The students from these schools attended painting competition organized by Department of Posts, J&K Circle in large numbers.
