First ITI for disabled people inaugurated at Latur

LATUR, Dec 2 : Maharashtra Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship & Innovation Minister Mangalprabhat Lodha on Saturday inaugurated first Disability Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in the state here.

Speaking at inauguration of the Sensory Handicapped Industrial Training Institute at Harungal via video link, he expressed belief that this organisation will be a guide in initiative of making the disabled people self-reliant.

He further said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a new identity to the disabled and conducted various activities for them.

Therefore, the common people’s attitude towards disabled people has changed, he noted.

The minister further said that the state government has given an approval to start an independent industrial training institute for disabled people in this institute.

Industrial training will be given here to the disabled people and thus employment and self-employment opportunities will be available to the disabled, added Lodha.

Digambar Dalvi, director, Directorate of Vocational Education & Training, handed over a cheque of Rs one crore to Institute. (UNI)
