Sinha visits martyr’s family, assures all help

JAMMU, Dec 2: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today declared that security forces will intensify operations against terror ecosystem and those aiding and abetting terrorists will have to pay a heavy price.
He said this in a couple of tweets after visiting the residence of Army braveheart Havaldar Abdul Majid at village Ajote in the border district of Poonch this morning to offer condolences to the family.

Abdul Majid was among five Army soldiers including two Captains who sacrificed their lives in a gun battle with terrorists at village Bajimaal in Dharamshal area of Kalakote in Rajouri district on November 22 and 23. Both Afghan-trained Pakistani terrorists were eliminated in the encounter.
“We will intensify our operations against terror ecosystem and those aiding and abetting terrorists and make sure they pay a very heavy price for their heinous actions,” the Lieutenant Governor said in a tweet after visiting residence of the brave martyr at village Ajote.
He commended Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) for well-planned counter-terrorism operations to wipe out terror ecosystem.
“Visited the home of Havaldar Abdul Majid in Poonch, who was martyred during an anti-terror operation in Rajouri and offered my condolences to the bereaved family. His family has a long history of service and sacrifices for motherland. Entire nation is proud of his valour and courage,” Sinha tweeted.
Later, speaking to the Excelsior, Abdul Majid’s father Mohammad Rashid said he urged the Lieutenant Governor to provide Government job to wife and brother of his martyr son.
“He (Sinha) spent some time with his (Majid) minor children, two sons and a daughter, and also other members of the family. We sought his intervention in taking care of Majid’s wife and kids providing a Government job to her and Majid’s younger brother and also appealed for a link road to the village. He assured early action,” Rashid said.
He said he is proud of Majid for sacrificing his life for the country but his departure has left a void that he is finding very hard to fill.
“He left for heaven after killing the enemies of the nation. Our family is dedicated to the nation and the whole country is proud of his sacrifice,” he said.
Rashid said construction of a patch of road will help children to go to school by road.
“The Lieutenant Governor assured us that all issues raised will be addressed in a short span of time,” he added.
The marty’s father was all praise for the Lieutenant Governor for visiting their house in far off area and boosting morale of the family as well as local people.
Senior officers of police and civil administration from Jammu as well as district Poonch were also present at Majid’s house in Ajote village in the border district of Poonch during the Lt Governor’s visit.
