Absconder held after over a decade by CB Jammu

JAMMU, Dec 3: An individual, who was evading his arrest in a case of cheating, forgery and several other crimes, for the past over a decade, was arrested from Uttarakhand today by a team of the Economic Offences Wing of the Crime Branch Jammu.
A Crime Branch spokesperson said that Rahul Kumar Singh of Village Benaud, District Chapra, Bihar at present Saliqui Haripur, District Dehradun, Uttarakhand was booked in case FIR number 10/2013 Under Sections 420, 465, 467, 471, 120-B RPC and 5/2 PC Act and section 27 of the Drugs and Cosmetic Act registered at Crime Branch Jammu.
He said that the allegations against the accused and other accused persons were substantiated during the course of investigation and accordingly a charge-sheet was produced in the case on June 20, 2013 for judicial determination.
However, the accused remained at large by frequently changing his locations outside the state followed by which the court issued an arrest warrant against him, he said.
After meticulous planning and well-directed/coordinated efforts, the special team of Economic Offences Wing of the Crime Branch Jammu today chased and arrested the absconder from Dehradun and produced him before the court of the law.
