SAMBA, Dec 3: Continuing stringent legal action against bovine smugglers, Samba police has foiled three bovine smuggling attempts in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Ghagwal and Police Post (PP) Mansar falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Samba. The police arrested three inter-zone bovine smugglers, rescued 31 bovine animals and seized three vehicles in this connection.
The arrested notorious bovine smugglers have been identified as Tariq Hussain, son of Basharat Ahmed of Anantnag, Mohammad Aslam, son of Billa of Pathyar RS Pura district Jammu and Mushtaq Ahmed, son of Babu Ahmed of Chenani district, Udhampur.
The police has registered case FIR No.112/2023 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act and case FIR No.289/2023 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act at PS, Ghagwal and P S, Samba through Police Post Mansar respectively and investigation is underway.
The bovine smuggling attempts have been foiled by police teams comprising of SHO PS, Ghagwal Sham Lal, SHO Samba and in charge Police Post, Mansar PSI, Shakti Singh under the supervision of DySP Headquarters, Samba, Bhishm Dubey and Additional SP Samba, Surinder Choudhary.
On the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police, Samba Benam Tosh a total of 99 notorious bovine smugglers have been arrested by Samba Police in past ten months after the launch of special drive, 81 FIRs have been registered against bovine smugglers, 71 vehicles used for bovine smuggling have been seized and 809 bovine animals have been rescued in Samba district.
