JAMMU, Jan 23: Various organizations and individuals paid floral tributes to Neta Ji Subhash Chandra Bose on his 117th birth anniversary today.
Pradesh Congress remembered Neta Ji by organizing a function at PCC headquarters Shaheedi Chowk Jammu.
Speakers, on the occasion, described Subhash Chandra Bose as an outstanding leader of the freedom movement and a revolutionary par excellence who took the struggle for independence beyond the Indian borders.
The function was presided over by PCC senior vice-president Dharam Pal Sharma and attended by Th Hari Singh, S Gurmukh Singh, Ravinder Sharma, Vinod Sharma, S R Sudhir, Thakur Manmohan Singh, Narinder Sharma, Neeraj Gupta, Raj Kumar Bazaz, P S Chouhan, G A Lone, Sita Devi, Neelam Kotwal and others.
Neta Ji Subhash Chandra Bose Volunteers Association Jammu organized a function at Maheshpura Chowk Jammu wherein MP Madan Lal Sharma was the chief guest. The function was attended by a large number of people including a senior citizen D N Daniel of 96 years who had the honour of seeing and working with Neta Ji.
Speaking on the occasion, Madan Lal Sharma demanded that Government should plan events commemorating the birth anniversary of Neta Ji and directions in this regard needs to be issued to various departments and schools to apprise the children and youth of the sacrifices and contribution of Neta Ji.
Other prominent present on the occasion includes Chander Mohan Sharma, Ashok Bittu, Vinod Kumar, Vijay Singh Pathania and Ashok Dogra.
J&K Freedom Fighters Association celebrated the birth anniversary of Neta Ji by organizing an impressive function at Netaji Park near Town Hall.
Commissioner JMC, Kiran Wattal, who was chief guest on the occasion, hoisted National Flag amidst chanting of patriotic slogans by the participating students from different schools.
Speaker threw light on the history and vision of the great freedom fighters, particularly Neta Ji Subhash Chandra Bose. They asked the youth to come forward and give a responsible leadership to the society for changing the political scenario of the State.
The function was organized by Ved Gandotra, president of the Association.
Duggar Pradesh Party organized a function at the party headquarters in Janipur and paid rich tributes to Neta Ji on his birth anniversary.
While addressing the gathering, the party president Udhay Chand said that the country was still struggling for freedom from corrupt politicians, bureaucrats and mafias who need to be exposed. He appealed the right thinking people to join movement against corruption and corrupt political system for giving shape to the vision of Neta Ji.
The birth anniversary of Netaji was celebrated by the Jammu and Kashmir Scholars Student Federation (JKSSF) by organizing a function on Jammu University campus wherein rich tributes were paid to the great freedom fighter.
Those who spoke on the occasion and remembered Netaji, included Kapil Shastri, Shamsher Singh, Varun Slathia, Ajay Sharma, Rahual Sharma, Naseeb Ali, Suresh Sharma and other students and scholars.
PDP Youth wing celebrated the birth anniversary of Subhash Chandra Bose today at party headquarters Gandhi Nagar wherein the participants remembered Neta Ji.
Those who spoke on the occasion, included Rajinder Singh Manhas State, Varinder Singh Sonu, Girish Sharma, Sachin Sharma, Joginder Singh, Sunil Bhat, Vimal, Vinnu, Raman and others.
Birth anniversary of Subhash Chandra Bose was celebrated in ‘Jai Hind’ Block of ‘NITL’ Higher Secondary School today. On the occasion Principal Ajay Gupta recalled the sacrifices of Netaji for people of the country and asked the students to dedicate themselves for getting society freed from corruption, nepotism, casteism, regionalism, religionism etc and work for the inclusive growth of the society.
Dream Land Public High School Udhampur also celebrated birth anniversary of Neta Ji and paid rich tributes to the freedom fighter.
