ReTs protest at district hqrs

JAMMU, Jan 23: Highlighting their grievances and demands, J&K ReT Teachers Forum today held protest demonstrations at district headquarters across Jammu region.
Raising slogans in support of their demands, the protesting ReTs in different districts also submitted memorandum to the respective Deputy Commissioners.
They were demanding immediate issuance of regularization orders of EVs, who were recently converted as regularized ReTs, inclusion of 5 years ReT period for seniority benefits, release of pending salary of regularized ReTs under SSA, transfer policy in favour of regularized ReT teachers besides benefits of SRO-43, old pension scheme in favour of RETs appointed before January 1, 2010, release of salary of female ReTs regularized under KGBV scheme and   third teacher.
The main protest was held in front of the Divisional Commissioner’s office near Panama Chowk Jammu under the leadership of provincial president Rajesh Singh Jamwal and district president Subash Chander.
At Udhampur, the protest rally was led by State president Vinod Sharma and district Lekh Raj Parihar from Mini Stadium to DC office. The rally passed through different bazaars of the town before culminating near DC office where a memorandum was submitted.
The protest rally in Doda was organized by district president Sajad Malik. The rally took off from Dak Bunglow and reached at DC office amidst shouting of slogans.
At Ramban, the protest was held under the leadership of district president Gulzaber Daing while in Poonch, State general secretary Najam Jafri and Bader Din Rather organized the protest demonstration and submitted memorandum to the DC.
Similar protest demonstrations were held at Rajouri, Reasi, Kathua, Samba and Kishtwar under the leadership of Naresh Sharma, Balwan Singh, Manohar Lal, Vijay Singh and Mohd Ramzan, respectively.
Meanwhile, the State executive of ReT Teachers Forum has threatened to gherao the Civil Secretariat and Legislative Assembly if its demands are not conceded by the Government.
