Couple charge- sheeted for cheating on pretext of arranging JDA plot

JAMMU, Dec 5: Economic Offences Wing of Crime Branch Jammu has charge-sheeted a couple for cheating on pretext of arranging a JDA plot.
The 214- page charge-sheet in case FIR number 63/2023, Under Section 420, 120-B RPC P/S Crime Branch Jammu, was produced in the court of law for judicial determination against accused – Jameel Anjum, son of Nasir Ahmed and his wife Sana Mir, both residents of H No.45 Naraian Mohalla Jammu.
The duo had allegedly cheated the complainant – Tripta Charak, daughter of Lt Kartar Singh Charak, resident of H No.133, Afghana Mohalla Jammu on the promise of arranging allotment of JDA plot at Channi Rama after swindling an amount of Rs 6 lakhs from her.
The accused induced the complainant by stating that he was Public Relation Officer of a Cabinet Minister, in October, 2013. However, the accused neither could arrange the piece of JDA plot for her nor refunded the money taken from her as an advance amount.
On receipt of the complaint, a preliminary enquiry was initiated and the allegations were prima-facie substantiated, leading to the registration of formal case.
