Devotees pay obeisance at Chowk Chabutra temple on Bhairav Ashtami

JAMMU, Dec 5: Devotees thronged the ancient Bhairav Dev temple here today at Chowk Chabutra in the heart of city to pay obeisance to the deity on Bhairav Ashtami, celebrations for which were going on for the last one week.
The temple of Kaal Bhairav Ji was beautifully decorated with flowers, buntings and light works.
Right from the wee hours, devotees started visiting the temple with offerings like flowers, fruits, sweets and dry fruits for the deity.
Mahant Rumil Sharma at Bhairav temple informed that congregation of 52 Biradiries was also held at the shrine today along with Jangam Pujan, Batuk Pujan, Hawan and special Aarti in evening.
A Bhandara was organised for the visiting devotees and it has been there for the last one week.
There was adequate arrangement from the concerned authorities for proper water supply, cleanliness and sanitation, security, electricity etc to facilitate the festival.
The entire Chowk Chabutra market was decorated beautifully with lights and flags of Bhairav Dev Ji.
Mahant Rumil Sharma said that a Bhandara shall also be organised tomorrow with which the ongoing weeklong annual festival will culminate.
