Ritika mocks opposition for blaming EVMs for defeat

JAMMU, Dec 5: BJP Mahila Morcha J&K chief spokesperson, Ritika Trehan here today asserted that BJP has emerged as first choice of the people of country and the fall of opposition is a certainty in the coming general election.
In a handout, Ritika mocked some opposition leaders raising questions over EVMs as BJP has emerged victorious in three Hindi heartland States- Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh in recently held Assembly polls, saying they are looking for excuses to hide their own shortcomings.
Ritika slammed the opposition and said they blame EVMs whenever they fail to win elections.
“The opposition, whoever it may be, when they win, they are fine with EVMs but when they lose, they blame EVMs,” she said.
She said with these EVMs, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) won elections in Delhi thrice and in Punjab once, the Samajwadi Party got an absolute majority (in Uttar Pradesh) in 2012, BSP got an absolute majority in Uttar Pradesh in 2007 and the Congress won Telangana.
The BJP leader said that EVMs have been there for the last 18-19 years.
“Their corruption and appeasement have been rejected by the people, so they are blaming EVMs,” she maintained.
