Rich tribute paid to Dr Ambedkar on his death anniversary

JAMMU, Dec 6: Leaders of several political and social organizations today remembered Bharat Ratna Dr BR Ambedkar on his death anniversary and paid floral tribute.
Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) organized a programme at party’s state headquarters Satwari under the chairmanship of Ex-MP Raja Ram to pay floral tribute to Baba Sahib. Speaking on the occasion, Ex-MP spoke on the contribution and sacrifices of Dr Ambedkar for the upliftment of down trodden communities. Among others, Rajesh Gupta (general secretary), vice president Charanjeet Chargotra, general secretary Advocate Shashi Bhushan and State coordinator Gorav Gurbaksh also paid tribute to Baba Sahib.
BJP also organized several programmes across J&K to pay tribute to the Architect of Nation’s Constitution. Ravinder Raina (J&K BJP president), in his message said that Baba Sahib with his incessant efforts outlawed the discrimination against the oppressed classes and worked to establish equality among fellow citizens. Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal (general secretary) paid floral tribute to the Baba Sahib at BJP headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, along with Sukhnandan Choudhary, Balbir Ram Rattan and others. Party vice-president Yudhvir Sethi paid tribute to Dr Ambedkar in a programme organized at Pacca Talab, Jammu.
In a solemn function held at Miran Sahib, Neelam Langeh (BJP SC Morcha J&K president and former MLA), paid floral tribute to Dr Ambedkar. The programme was organized by Umesh Kumar Gabbar (district president, BJP SC Morcha, Jammu). The function was attended by various dignitaries, party workers, and members of the local community, all of whom joined in paying homage to Dr Ambedkar. The event also saw a display of photographs and writings of Dr Ambedkar, providing a glimpse into his remarkable journey and legacy.
National Conference paid tribute to the architect of Constitution and Bharat Ratna, Dr Ambedkar, on his death anniversary during a function held at party office Jammu. In this connection, a programme was organised by Vijay Lochan, Chairman JKNC SC Cell in which Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial president JKNC Jammu was the chief guest. The Provincial president along with senior party leaders profusely garlanded the portrait of Dr Ambedkar.
Speaking on the occasion, Rattan Lal described the architect of the Constitution of India as a great visionary, saying the legendary leader worked tirelessly to foster egalitarian society and shed caste discrimination across the country. He said that the people will always remember Baba Saheb for giving the country best constitution of the world.
Senior NC leader emphasized that the Central Government would not have kept the erstwhile historic state under the spell of long undemocratic rule of outsourced bureaucracy. He urged the government at the Centre to restore democracy in Jammu and Kashmir by holding Assembly polls without any further delay.
Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, Provincial secretary, Abdul Gani Malik former minister and Zone president Udhampur Reasi, Vijay Lochan Chairman SC Cell, Jagjeevan Lal former minister and District president Reasi, Qazi Jalal Ud Din, Dr Chaman Lal Bhagat, Pardeep Bali, Ayub Malik Mohinder Singh also spoke on the occasion.
Apni Party Provincial president, Jammu, and former minister, Manjit Singh today paid rich tribute to Dr BR Ambedkar on his death anniversary. Accompanied by prominent people and leaders of the Party Singh offered floral tribute to Dr Ambedkar to mark the day.
Singh remembered the remarkable contribution of the architect of Indian Constitution, and his work for the upliftment of the neglected class of society. He remembered his fight for equality and constitutional guarantee to the marginalized section of the society for their social, educational, economic and political upliftment.
He said that his struggle has provided an opportunity to the underprivileged people to get equal rights in the society. However, the Schedule Caste and Scheduled Tribe people are still getting discriminated against one way or the other, he said citing underdevelopment in their localities and exploitation of Dalits.
Shobhan Chaudhuri, General Manager Northern Railway paid tribute to Dr BR Ambedkar on his 67th death anniversary ‘Manaparinirwan Diwas’ at Railway headquarters, Baroda House, New Delhi today. Senior Railway officials and other staff, were present on the occasion. They kept two-minute silence to pay rich tribute to Dr Ambedkar.
Speaking on the occasion Chaudhuri said that the ideals and thoughts of great leader continue to inspire generations. His dedicated life for equality and rights in society is an inspiration for all of us.
A function regarding `Mahaparinivan Divas’ was also organized by Shri Guru Ravi Dass Sabha, Bahu Fort (Jammu) at Gurudwara Shri Guru Ravi Dass ji Maharaj. People from all walks of life attended the function and paid rich tribute Baba Saheb. The students delivered speeches on the life, mission and contribution of Baba Saheb. Speaking on the occasion, Sham Lal Basson said that if we call Baba Saheb as leader of Dalits, it will be great injustice to this tall personality as he was a leader of masses.
