DGP sanctions over Rs 1.65 cr welfare loan, relief

JAMMU, Dec 6: The Director General of Police (DGP), J&K, RR Swain, has approved welfare loans and relief totalling over Rs 1.65 crore for 110 serving police personnel.
As per an order, Rs 88 lakh has been allocated to 47 police personnel for self-treatment or the treatment of their dependents, ranging from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 5 lakhs. Additionally, welfare relief of Rs 8.50 lakh has been granted to 22 police personnel.
Furthermore, welfare loans ranging from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2 lakhs each have been sanctioned for 46 personnel for their own marriage or the marriages of their wards. A total of Rs 11.50 lakhs has been allocated to eight police personnel for the higher education expenses of their wards, and Rs 50,000 has been granted for the Yognovpit of one police person’s son.
It’s noteworthy that the welfare loans are refundable and are recovered in monthly installments from the personnel’s salaries without interest, while welfare relief is non-refundable.
