SRINAGAR, Dec 6: Police today attached the properties of five militants in Bandipora and Ganderbal districts of Kashmir.
Land belonging to the family of a militant associate of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) in Bandipora district was today attached under the anti-terror law UAPA.
Police said that the action was taken after the land was identified as proceeds of crime.
“Bandipora Police has attached 14 marla of residential land at Ashtengoo Bandipora in case FIR No.43/2022. The land had been identified as proceeds of terrorism and was attached under the UAPA,” Bandipora police said in a post on X.
Police said the land belongs to the family of a militant associate of LeT, Irfan Ahmad Bhat.
“His brother had exfiltrated to Pakistan in 2000,” police added.
In Ganderbal, police attached the properties of four absconders, who have illegally exfiltrated to Pakistan.
A police spokesman in a statement said that on 5th and 6th of Dec 2023, in pursuance of Government Order number 12/DM/GBL, in a case under FIR number 120/2009 2/3 E&IMCO of Police Station Ganderbal, immovable property of four absconders who exfiltrated to Pakistan was attached.
“On 5th of December 2023 property of Lateef Khan alias Sajad son of Kishwar Khan of Gutlibagh (Land measuring 13 marlas), Mohammad Hussain Shah son of Aitibar Shah of Wayil Gutlibagh (land measuring 03 kanals, 14 marlas) and Wali- ullah son of Mohammad Abdullah Khan of Gutlibagh (Land measuring 13 Kanals) was attached,” the spokesman said.
Police said that on December 6, the property of another absconder exfilitrated to Pakistan illegally identified as Farooq Ahmad Wani son of Ghulam Nabi Wani of Wanipora Saloora Ganderbal (Land measuring 1 kanal 5 marla under survey no. 423 Min along with Building situated at estate Saloora was attached today in the same case.
Police said that all the four absconders have exfiltrated to Pakistan for obtaining illegal arms ammunition training.
