JAMMU, Dec 7: A notorious criminal was booked today under Public Safety Act by Miran Sahib Police.
“Acting on a tip off regarding one notorious criminal namely Pankaj Singh alias Panku son of Gopal Singh resident of Kotli Mian Fateh (Miran Sahib, Jammu) whose arrest was pending in PSA Warrant, a special police team of Police Station Miran Sahib led by SDPO RS Pura Nikhil Gogna assisted by SHO Police Station Miran Sahib Inspector Bopinder Singh raided the suspected place and arrested the accused,” a police spokesman said.
He said a warrant of arrest under PSA vide order No 30 of 2023 dated 17/11/2023 Under Section 8 (1) (A) of J&K Public Safety Act 1978 was issued against the accused by District Magistrate Jammu after receiving the dossier from the district police against the accused.
“The accused was habitual of indulging in criminal activities. He was involved in a dozen cases registered in different police stations of different districts of Jammu zone,” the spokesman said, adding, today the warrant was executed and the accused was sent to Central Jail, Kot Bhalwal (Jammu).
