JAMMU, Dec 7: All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Organisations/DOM/NSYF and followers of Bharat Ratna Dr BR Ambedkar assembled on 68th Mahaparinirwana of Bharat Ratna at Ambedkar Chowk, Jammu and commemorated the day.
Participants lighted the candles at the statute of Baba Sahib and made commitment to save the Constitution. They said Constitutionalism ensures that equal rights are enjoyed by equals. It is because of Ambedkar that we have rights today. But sadly there is an attempt to dilute the constitutional rights. Religious freedom is a fundamental right but recent instances of fanatic religious nationalism has posed a threat to multi-religious society of India.
Furthermore, reservation for the vulnerable sections is being compromised by its dilution. Thus, it becomes important to come forth to protect the constitution.
RK Kalsotra State president Confederation-DOM, patron NSYF & National vice president Dr Ambedkar Parinirwan Bhomi New Delhi said Baba Sahib’s struggle gave equality to those who were treated unequal centuries together, along with being the architect of the Indian Constitution, was an immortal champion of social harmony, who dedicated his life to the welfare of the exploited and the deprived. My respectful obeisances to him today on his Mahaparinirwana day and now his name has become a movement.
On September 25, 1932, Ambedkar signed the Poona Pact to grant reserved seats in the legislature to the oppressed classes and reservation rights but now the Govt day by day curtailing the rights by way of privatisation and changing the Constitution which is a big threat to the rights of SC, ST, OBC and Minority.
We demand National level status at par with Rajghat to 26 Alipur New Delhi where Baba Sahib wrote Indian Constitution, he said.
Kuldeep Singh organising secy DOM said Indian Constitution drafted by Baba Sahib Ambedkar gave us all “Liberty, Fraternity, Justice, Equality “ thus, we should to develop love and respect to each one. Dr Sameer Choudhary State president NSYF also spoke on the occasion.
Harasis Kranti renowned social leader said Ambedkar practiced law. He drafted India’s Constitution and went on to become the country’s first Minister of Law and Justice.
On October 14, 1956, Ambedkar adopted Buddhism, converting about 5 lakh of his supporters. On December 6 of that year, he passed away.
