Four booked under Arms Act

JAMMU, Dec 7: Satwari Police today booked and arrested four accused under Arms Act from Phallian Mandal area.
“Acting on information received through reliable sources that some unknown persons carrying sharp edged weapons were forcefully collecting royalty from illegal mining mafia at Cricket Ground, Sum Toph in Phallian Mandal area, a team of Police Station Satwari led by SDPO South Sachit Sharma assisted by SHO Satwari Inspector Sumeet Sharma and Incharge Police Post Phallian Mandal SI Ranjit Singh Chib rushed to the spot,” a Police spokesman said.
He said on reaching the spot, four accused persons namely Abhishek Singh son of Kuldeep Singh of RS Pura, Ravi Singh son of Bishan Singh of RS Pura, Harbax Singh son of Kartar Singh of Chatha and Sachin Singh son of Subash Singh of RS Pura were arrested. “During search, one sharp edged weapon i.e Toka was also recovered from the possession of accused Ravi Singh,” he added.
The spokesman said that a case FIR Number 263/2023 U/S 4/25 Arms Act, 506/34 IPC was registered in this connection in Police Station Satwari. He said a car bearing registration number PB17- 9696 and a motorcycle bearing registration number JKO2CD-9265 belonging to the accused, were also seized from the spot. Further investigation of the case was going on, he added.
The overall arrests and recoveries were made under the supervision of SP South Shaheen Wahid.
