SAMBA, Dec 7: A team of officers from Jammu & Kashmir Branch Office of Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) carried out search and seizure in the premises of M/S United Tuff Glass Pvt Ltd Unit II, IGC SAMBA today.
During the search, it was observed that the unit was engaged in manufacture and sale of Safety Glass Toughened (Tempered) and Laminated Glass- Toughened (Tempered) without BIS certification mark, which is a violation of Safety Glass (Quality Control) order issued by Government of India.
During the search & seizure operation huge quantity of finished and Semi Finished stock was seized by team. The enforcement team was led by Pankaj Atri, Joint Director accompanied by Niraj Mishra, Assistant Director and Raj Kumar, Assistant Director, BIS Jammu and Kashmir Branch Office.
Action is being initiated by BIS Jammu & Kashmir Branch Office against the offenders under BIS Act, 2016.
