JAMMU, Dec 8: Former Director General of Police (DGP), Dilbag Singh, yesterday addressed a key internal security seminar at Defence Services Staff College in Wellington, Tamil Nadu.
A press statement said that the seminar attracted high-profile participants including Joint Secretary NSCS, DGP Assam, Additional Director, Intelligence Bureau (IB), and various other senior officers.
The seminar offered a comprehensive exploration of national security, with a specific focus on the intricate landscape of J&K and the dynamics of Northeast India.
More than 500 officers from all three services, alongside a notable number of officers from foreign friendly countries, actively engaged in the enlightening sessions. Visiting specialists provided valuable insights into the complexities of internal security, leaving a lasting impact on both staff and student officers.
In his address, Dilbag Singh provided a thorough historical perspective on the chronology of events leading to the Kashmir imbroglio and the emergence of terrorism in J&K.
He highlighted the collaborative efforts of J&K Police, security forces, intelligence agencies, and other stakeholders, emphasizing the encouraging security scenario that has evolved through consistent and persistent government initiatives.
Singh, drawing on his extensive experience, shared valuable insights and deliberated on the future path to achieve a sustainable peace and progress in J&K.
