Theft case worked out within hours; gold, cash recovered

JAMMU, Dec 11: With the arrest of one individual, police in Miran Sahib Area here claimed today they have worked out a theft case within hours after the registration of the FIR in the case.
A police spokesperson said that on December 10th, 2023, one Sunil Kumar approached Police Station Miran Sahib claiming theft of Rs 100000 in cash, one i-Phone, gold ornaments, one chain, one pair of ear rings, two rings, one pair of silver bangles from the office of Sunil Sports Bat Factory at Talli Morh by unknown persons.
On this, he said, a case FIR number 169/2023 under sections 457, 380 IPC was registered at Police Station Miran Sahib and investigation started.
During investigation, the police spokesperson said that a party of Police Station Miran Sahib led by SHO Miran Sahib, Inspector Bopinder Singh, under the supervision of SP HQ Ramnish Gupta and SDPO RS Pura Nikhil Gogna, analysed various CCTV footages minutely and based on the information gathered, one suspect was identified as Vicky Kumar of Sujadpur, Miran Sahib, Tehsil RS Pura, District Jammu.
He added the suspected person confessed to his involvement in the crime during sustained questioning.
On his disclosure, the police spokesperson said that the stolen items including the cash, gold and silver ornaments, were recovered from his possession.
Further investigation into the case is underway, he said.
