JAMMU, Jan 25: The State employees under the banner of Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) have resolved to conduct ‘Gherao’ of Civil Secretariat on January 30 to lodge their protest against the Government.
In a meeting of the JCC members held here today under the leadership of Balwinder Singh, Ravi Singh Bhau, Ganesh Khajuria and Jagdish Sharma, it was unanimously decided to conduct ‘Gherao’ of Civil Secretariat on January 30. They alleged that Government has failed to resolve the pending issues of the State employees. It was claimed that a campaign to garner support of employees from various departments and PSUs has also been launched.
The employees are demanding withdrawal of ESMO imposed on the employees and roll back on no work, no play policy, removal of pay anomalies of clerical cadre, budgetary support for the PSUs for release of 6th Pay Commission arrears, regularization of adhoc, contractual, daily wage employees, enhancement of retirement age from 58 to 60 years, enhancement of Medical allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 2000 per month, release of 10 % DA and withdrawal of new pension scheme.
It was decided to start protest march to Secretariat on the proposed day from Press Club of Jammu near main Tawi bridge at 11 am.
