Police starts AI based facial recognition system in Kishtwar

KISHTWAR, Dec 12: In a significant stride towards bolstering security measures, SSP Kishtwar, Khalil Poswal along with Additional SP Kishtwar, Rajinder Singh here today made functional an advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) based facial recognition system at Morden Naka in Drabshalla.
This technology is designed to identify and track individuals involved in criminal activities, including terrorists, OGWs, absconders, history-sheeters, thieves, and drug paddlers.
Implementation of this system marks a pivotal step in ensuring public safety and combating crime effectively.

On this occasion SSP Kishtwar, Poswal emphasized on the significance of AI based facial recognition system in swiftly detecting and apprehending individuals with criminal record.
He further said that the technology’s ability to identify a range of threats, from terrorism to local crime is expected to play a crucial role in maintaining law and order in the area.
The SSP said that AI based facial recognition system is an integral part of smart policing initiatives.
