Senior Journalist Rajesh Vidhyarthi dies in train accident, PCJ among others condoles demise

JAMMU, Dec 13: Senior journalist, formerly with Amar Ujala and ANI, Rajesh Sharma popularly known as Rajesh Vidhyarthi has died in a tragic train accident at Haryana.
He was injured seriously at Railway Station, Gannaur in Haryana on the intervening night of December 12-13, 2023 and was shifted to PGI, Rohtak but he succumbed to his injuries today morning due to excessive blood loss.
Vidhyarthi was on his way to Jammu after meeting his family at Delhi. He had suffered a stroke recently and was recovering.
He was very active in student politics and remained Cultural General Secretary at Jammu University and senior leader of Jammu Joint Students Federation (JJSF), a premier student organization besides being a Executive Member of Press Club of Jammu (PCJ).
His demise has been deeply mourned by journalist fraternity, social organizations, political leaders etc.
Vidhyarthi is survived by his wife Yogita Yadav, also a journalist and writer, son and daughter.
Meanwhile, the Managing Committee of Press Club of Jammu has expressed profound shock and grief over the sad and untimely demise of Rajesh Vidhyarthi, a veteran journalist and former member of Managing Committee of Press Club of Jammu.
A condolence meeting was convened here today, under the chairmanship of PCJ president, Sanjeev Pargal, where rich tribute were paid to the departed colleague. Among others, vice president, Zorawar Singh Jamwal; secretary general, Dinesh Manhotra; treasurer, Channi Anand, Nishikant Khajuria, Vishal Bharti, Dinesh Mahajan, Deepak Khajuria, Ajay Meenia, Govind Chouhan, Kunal Shrivatsa and all Executive members of the Committee were present.
The Committee members also observed a two minute silence and prayed to the almighty God to bestow eternal peace to the noble soul and give courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
