Chairman LAHDC Kargil calls on LG Ladakh, raises several issues

LEH, Dec 16: Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Kargil, Dr Mohammed Jaffar Akhoon today called on Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) to discuss various issues related to Kargil district.
Dr Akhoon demanded special package to clear pending land, house and trees compensation to beneficiaries whose land was acquired for various infrastructure development projects; extension of Kargil Civil Airport for commercial flights and recruitment of constables in Ladakh Police on district cadre post basis.
He highlighted the need to release adequate funds under National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) for permanent restoration of works/structures damaged by the floods in different flood-affected areas of Kargil, and sanctioning of flood protection works for Sangrah Nallah, upgradation of old KS Road Sangrah under CRIF/SDP and strengthening of All India Radio (AIR) Kargil.
The CEC further demanded implementation of recruitment rules framed for posts of LAHDC Kargil, creation of required posts in LAHDC Kargil for smooth functioning of the Hill Council, sanctioning of honorarium/maintenance cost and fuel charge of school transport buses provided to different schools of Kargil under CAPEX, construction of Kargil Sarai at Leh.
Dr Akhoon also raised issues related to District Hospital Kargil regarding shelter for relatives of patients, construction of additional wings, such as the Dental Wing, at District Hospital.
The Lieutenant Governor asked DC Kargil to complete the exercise of identification of beneficiaries who are still awaiting payment of compensation. He assured to take up the matter of the operation of civilian flights with the concerned official of SpiceJet and asked ADGP Ladakh Police to examine the demand for recruitment of constables in Ladakh Police on district cadre basis.
The LG asked concerned officials from the Public Works Department to look for funds for the restoration of works/structures damaged by flood under NDRF’s Flood Management Plan and assured to take up the matter of upgradation of Old KS Road Sangrah with concerned officials of MoRTH (Ministry of Road Transport and Highways). He also assured to take up the matter of AIR Kargil with Minister of Information and Broadcasting.
He directed the concerned officials to ensure that biometric attendance of all Government employees, including Directorates, is taken on a timely basis to make the Directorates in Kargil fully functional. He also directed Director, Health Services to provide a lady doctor at GM Pore Hospital.
Advisor to LG, Dr Pawan Kotwal, ADGP Ladakh Police, Dr SD Singh Jamwal, Principal Secretary, Health, Dr Vasantha Kumar N, Deputy Commissioner Kargil Shrikant Suse, SSP Kargil Anayat Ali Chaudhary, Director, Health Services, Dr Motup Dorje; Chief Engineer, PWD (R&B)/PMGSY Abduk Mutalib; Superintending Engineer, PWD (R&B)/PMGSY Skalzang Dorjay; Superintending Engineer, PHE (I&FC) Maqbool Hussain and officials from District Hospital Kargil and NHIDCL were present in the meeting.
