UDHAMPUR, Dec 16: A young housewife committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at the house of her in-laws in Barmeen in Ramnagar Tehsil.
A police spokesman said that Priyanka Sharma (23), wife of Anil Kumar, resident of Barmeen, consumed some poisonous substance at her s residence. The family members noticed her in serious condition and rushed her to Sub District Hospital Ramnagar.
Despite hectic efforts by the doctors, she did not respond to the treatment and died after some time. Later, the body was sent for postmortem.
The police after completion of all the legal formalities and postmortem, handed over the body to family members for the last rites.
Cause of provocation behind the extreme step could not be ascertained while Police have registered a case in this connection for further investigation.
